Therapy is a collaborative process, an opportunity to work together to meet your goals, whether they be improved relationships, better physical and emotional health, or fulfillment at work, in school, or on a spiritual path. Strategies we use are likely to include mindfulness techniques, cognitive therapy, relationship skills, and methods that cultivate a positive sense of self. I have extensive training in cognitive therapies (DBT,CBT, MCBT) and family and couples therapy. I have studied mindfulness skills from many traditions and synthesize the insights of these methods into my therapeutic approach.
Areas of particular focus are: relationship issues, including family and couples work; eating disorder treatment including Family Based Treatment (Maudsley Method) for children and adolescents; mindfulness-based and Buddhist-inspired approaches to life challenges; and cognitive therapy (working with distressing thoughts or thought patterns) for anxiety and depression.
Whether you are looking for support with individual, relationship, or family challenges, together we can build a framework for a more content and fulfilling life.
